Georgia Tech Looks to Defeat the Owls in their First Ever Home Game

Over the last year, Georgia Tech has struggled with finding field space for practice, given the space issue on Georgia Tech’s campus. As if practices were hard enough to plan, organizing a home game was nearly unmanageable. This became an even bigger issue last semester when Georgia Tech’s intramural fields were closed while the school renovated the fields. Therefore, all of Georgia Tech’s “home games” were played at Kennesaw State last semester.

These issues have piled up and have been stressful to say the least, but with the intramural fields finally open to students, the Yellow Jackets will finally have their first home game next Friday, February 28th, against Kennesaw State.

Georgia Tech’s struggles last semester were highly documented and created tension among members of the team. This semester has been a breathe of fresh air, however, as the team welcomed in quite a few new members, some of which returned to campus this semester after an internship last fall. The talent level on the team has substantially improved, but there’s no way of predicting how the team will respond to all of the new faces.

While Georgia Tech’s improvements are promising, Kennesaw State has been working as well, growing to a remarkable size given the team’s short history. The Owls’ roster size has risen to 30+ members and their depth will be key to their success against the Yellow Jackets on the 28th.

KSU will be looking to start the season off with a statement as they try to win back to back ISL championships. The first game of the season is shaping up to be an excellent match between the two impressive teams, and we welcome everyone to come on out and watch the first game of the season. The game will start at 8:00 PM on the Georgia Tech intramural turf fields, which are next to the Campus Recreation Center. I will be informing everyone on the parking situation as soon as I here more from the club sports office. I hope everyone can come out and enjoy the first game of the new ISL season. We have high hopes for this season and would love for everyone’s support as we continue to grow across the state of Georgia!
